I am in love with sets right now. It’s a perfect date night outfit! I love this crop top set, because it’s a little sexy, but still conservative.
As a trainer for the company I work at, I tend to have a pretty tight schedule. During the week, I barely have time to cover the monster zit that is probably growing on my face and make sure my shoes match. This week was no exception.
It was insane, y’all. Between making sure my colleagues were learning the material, a broken ID badge machine, and some interesting conversations about compliance, I was so relieved for this class to be prepared for their new roles… I also may have been pretty ready for a week off from training-even though I heart my job.
When my busy weeks are over, Jason and I like to go out on a fancy-ish date. This means I get to fix my hair, put on makeup, and wear something besides “business casual”. Sometimes “fancy” may just be our favorite hole in the wall Sushi place down the street from our house, Temari. It could also mean going to Mastro’s City Hall for dinner and drinks. Either way, a top and skirt set works either place.
I bought this one at H&M a few months ago because it made me feel like Betty Draper from Mad Men.
I decided to wear my black platform shoes from Junky Trunk to contrast with the sweet, girly print. I think it takes some of the “dressy” out of the outfit, don’t you?
This look may seem pretty difficult to pull off, but trust me. It’s not. there are tons of ways to wear it, and a lot of different shapes and sizes can be flattered in a two piece set.
For all of my short girls out there (you can’t see me, but I’m raising my hand), I’d personally wear matching pieces like this crop top and skirt to elongate your petite selves. For tall peeps (jealous…), you pretty much can wear anything. Like this black lace BCBG set. How beautiful is that?
If you’re not keen on showing your midriff, but still love the idea of a top and skirt set, don’t worry! This style is perfect. Imagine that for fall with some tights, boots and a leather jacket? Schwing.
Seriously, though, there are so many choices if you’re in to this look. For real, click on the numbers to take a peek at some of my favorite top and skirt sets:
